Privacy policy

This policy explains what Houston Appliance Care ("we", "us") collects when you use houstonappliancecare.com or call our phone line, why we collect it, and who we share it with. Houston Appliance Care connects people who need appliance repair with independent repair companies. We do not perform repairs.
What we collect
- From the contact form: your name, phone number, ZIP code, the appliance and brand, your description of the problem, and your email address if you give it.
- From phone calls: calls to our number are handled by a call-tracking and routing service. It logs the calling number, the date, time and length of the call, and the page or ad that led to the call. Calls may be recorded. If a call is recorded, you will be told at the start of the call.
- From your browser: basic technical data our host receives with every request (IP address, browser type, pages requested). With your consent, analytics cookies also record how you use the site. See Cookies.
How we use it
- To connect you with an appliance repair company that serves your ZIP code, and to pass along the details of your request.
- To call or text you back about your request, when you have agreed to that on the form.
- To keep records of referrals, including for billing between us and the repair companies we work with.
- To understand which pages are useful and to prevent spam and abuse.
Who we share it with
We share your name, phone number, ZIP code and request details with the independent repair company we connect you with, so it can contact you and quote the job. That company is paid by you for the repair, and we are paid by it or by a partner for the referral. Under some privacy laws, sharing personal data for payment can count as a "sale". You can ask us to stop sharing your details at any time (see Your choices).
We also use service providers that process data on our behalf: website hosting, the call-tracking service, the system that receives form submissions and, only if you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics. We may disclose information if the law requires it.
Cookies and local storage
The site stores your cookie choice in your browser's local storage under the name hac-consent. That is
essential and contains no personal data.
If you click Accept, Google Analytics sets cookies (named _ga and _ga_*) that help us count visits
and phone-button taps. If you click Reject, or make no choice, those cookies are not set. You can change your choice at
any time with the Cookie settings link in the footer, and you can delete cookies in your browser settings.
Your choices
You can ask us what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or ask us to stop sharing it, by emailing hello@houstonappliancecare.com. Depending on where you live, including Texas, you may have rights under state privacy law; we will respond to verifiable requests within the time the law allows. To stop texts, reply STOP to any text message.
Once your details have been passed to a repair company, that company's own privacy practices apply to the information it holds. You can ask it directly to delete your details.
How long we keep it
We keep referral records for as long as we need them for billing, dispute handling and legal obligations, and then delete them.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
We will post any change to this policy on this page and update the date at the top.
