Who we are

Houston Appliance Care operates houstonappliancecare.com and its phone line. Houston Appliance Care is a referral service. It is not an appliance repair company. It does not employ technicians, perform repairs, sell or install parts, set prices or guarantee any work.

What happens when you call or send a request

Your call or request is connected or passed to an independent appliance repair company that serves your ZIP code. That company is a separate business. It decides whether it can take the job, when it can come, what it charges for the service call and the repair, and what warranty it gives. Your agreement for the repair is with that company, not with Houston Appliance Care.

Calls are handled in English. The Spanish-language page on this site is information only and does not mean a Spanish-speaking agent or technician is available.

How we are paid

Calling us is free, and you never pay Houston Appliance Care anything. We are paid by the repair companies we work with, or by partners that work with them, for connecting callers who need a repair. Each repair company sets its own prices, so ask for its service call fee before the visit and a written quote before any work starts.

What we do not verify or guarantee

Houston Appliance Care does not guarantee the licensing, insurance, workmanship, pricing, timing or conduct of any repair company. Before you agree to a visit or a repair, ask the company:

• What its service call or diagnostic fee is, and whether it is credited toward the repair.
• For a written quote before work starts, and what warranty it gives on parts and labor.
• Whether it carries liability insurance.
• For refrigerator, freezer or ice maker sealed-system work, whether the technician holds EPA certification to handle refrigerant.
• For any gas connection, who will do it and whether a permit is needed.

Licenses in Texas

Texas law exempts work on a residential refrigerator, freezer or ice machine from the state air conditioning and refrigeration contractor license (Texas Occupations Code §1302.058). Texas law treats gas appliances and gas piping as plumbing (Texas Occupations Code §1301.002), and the City of Houston requires a plumbing permit, obtained by a master plumber registered with the city, for a connection point to a fuel gas appliance (Houston Permitting Center). If gas work is part of your repair, ask for the plumber's license number and check it with the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners. This is general information, not legal advice.

Cost ranges on this site are national figures from the sources cited on each page, not quotes from Houston companies. Lifespans, error codes, warranty terms and troubleshooting steps come from manufacturers and the other sources cited, as they read when checked in September 2026. Manufacturers change warranty terms and code lists, so check your owner's manual. Nothing on this site is a diagnosis.

The site uses drawn icons, not photographs, so no image on it shows a real technician, vehicle, customer or job.
